A family member dropped her dentures and two of the teeth broke. She is holding the teeth in place with Krazy Glue. Is there any type of glue made specifically for dentures which have broken?
Dentures - how can they be fixed when broken?
Yes, but if she's being treated by a dentist, it's better to take them there so he/she could fix them. You don't want to make the problem any worse.
Reply:is she mad?.....go 2 dentist first of all.........and back on new teeth with plastic
Reply:Super glue work
Reply:yes there's glue at the dentist's office!
Reply:U can get it pasted with plastic glue. Yr dentist will be able to help u or u can approch a denture maker in your area.
Reply:Yes. Go to the dentist and he can fix them for you.

Have you ever broken your tooth?
I did when I was in 5th grade. I was at recess and my friend was showing me how to sit on the steel rings. So after she showed me I sat on the biggest one but I was getting scared. (I was about 5 feet up) so i tried getting off but somehow I slipped and my mouth hit the steel and I broke my front tooth, after that I fell on my head. We had to go to the dentist the next day to re-attach my tooth.
Have you ever broken your tooth?
Ow! Just about 6 months ago I was playing catch with my friend and the ball hit me straight in the face. One of my teeth fell out and 2 others "died." I've had three root canals so far, not fun!
:D
Reply:Yea i got poped in the mouth by a hard right cross.
Reply:no ...I've never broken my tooth
Reply:A couple of years ago one of my horses swung her head, hit me in the mouth with the shank on her bit, and broke off one of my front teeth. I looked like one of the Clampett's until the dentist could get me in!
Reply:Yes.A few years ago,I fainted and hit my face on my mantle-piece.Both my top front teeth broke,so i've got crowns on them now.
Reply:no i never have, but i bet its very painfull

Are my teeth breaking down?
well,i didnt brush my teeth as much as i should have when i was little but i never really had any problems until now.im 18 and i brush my teeth at least twice a day and always rinse with mouth wash after brushing.but for a while now,the tops of my front teeth are white and no matter how much i brush i cant get it to go away and now i have 4 teeth that are devolping small cavities.my gums are red and i kno that that is caused by gingivitis.after i get the cavities filled am i still going to have these problems and is my teeth and gums current condition able to get any better with time? thx.
Are my teeth breaking down?
The "white" look is de- calcification and it is an indicator of tooth trouble. I recommend you get to a peridontist for a deep cleaning and evaluation. You might then need a cosmetic dentist to correct that damage to to the suface of the teeth.
In order to save your teeth, you must now begin cleaning properly, the periodontist will teach you how to do this.
I recommend that you purchase a "water pic" to clean your gums, floss you MUST do every day, brushing after every meal. You are young and you can reverse the gum damage if you work hard at it. Oh yes..your diet..sorry but try to eliminate all candy, sweets, and processed foods, they are bad news to your teeth!

My wife has a mini dachshund the dog is around 8months old she has a broken tooth what can she do ?
She needs to have it extracted as soon as possible. Broken teeth are very painful, even if it doesn't look like your dog is in pain she is. Some vet dentistry specialists can save the tooth, but it is very costly.
My wife has a mini dachshund the dog is around 8months old she has a broken tooth what can she do ?
Is it a baby tooth or adult tooth
If baby tooth it should fall out very soon
If adult tooth it would be best to have it removed as they are source of infection and tooth root abscess.
Reply:Awww poor doxie. I have a miniature dachshund also. He is awesome. I recommend taking the dog to the vet and getting the rest of the tooth pulled. Otherwise the part that is left will start to decay and cause the poor little thing to be in pain.
Hope you guys enjoy your doxie as much as I do mine. They are great pets. Take good care of her.
Reply:Please take the puppy to the vet asap. It should be okay, but best to make sure by checking with the vet.

Dentist prescribed vicodin but it does not relieve the pain. why. i have a broken tooth?
only thing that relieves the pain is cold water. have been drinking water all day. the pain is unbearable. just need to know why the vicodin does not work.
Dentist prescribed vicodin but it does not relieve the pain. why. i have a broken tooth?
You have a really aggravated tooth, and chances are there is too much inflammation in the area for the drug to reach the nerve endings. You should see an endodontist (root canal specialist) and FAST. You need to try an anti-inflamitory...like Advil, Motrin or any generic ibuprofen...try up to 800mg every 6 hours (with food so your stomach doesn't get upset, brcause at that level, it will!)
Reply:Probably because of the level of pain. I am on Vicodin for a back injury and there have been times when it didn't cut it for me either. You should call the dentist right away, they may be able to get you better relief.
Reply:not all meds work for all people. A Dr gave me vicodin once...I gained 8 lbs of water weight (and didn't pee) in 24 hrs...I nearly died...from water intoxication. So see him/her for something else or go to the store and get some Anbesol to deaden the pain.
Reply:Sometimes Vicodin don't work much because we tend to breath in or mouths and the air hits the bad stop.Try and drink some tea that might help numb the pain.
Reply:If you have a broken tooth, then probably its pulp is way too close to saliva and very little dental tissue is covering this pulp.
This makes it very sensitive to any change of temperatures, or even to the pH of your saliva.
It also makes it strongly vulnerable to the bacteries in your saliva.
I'd say your pulp has gone into a swollen state, called accute pulpitis. For this, hardly any analgesic will work... but cold water does work because it makes the swelling to slightly low down; taking away the pressure your pulp is going through and therefore getting to calm down the pain.
An analgesic won't work because it can't reach the cause of the problem.
Call your dentist now if possible... or you won't get any sleep tonight.
Also this could develope and get worse, to the point that you'll need a root canal treatment, if you don't already need it.
Regards, Lifeguard.
Reply:VICODIN (HYDROCODONE) IS NOT AN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY. MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SIMILAR PROBLEM WHERE VICODIN IS INEFFECTIVE.
INFLAMMATION IS A MAJOR CAUSE OF PAIN. A MOTIRN 800mg(IBUPROFEN) IS OFTEN TIMES MORE EFFECTIVE THAN VICODIN.

Broken back tooth hurts very bad?
So like 6 months ago I was eating peanut M%26amp;M's and one happened to break the second to last bottom tooth on my right side. It wasn't really a problem too much either, so I kinda tried to ignore it.
I bothered my mom about insurance, but I'm not on hers. Long story behind that, but I'm not on her insurance. I'm about to be 19, have a part-time job that will just barely pay the bills, and am in a new city with no one besides my friend.
The tooth has like the bottom left corner missing, but it's a bit bigger piece than just the corner. Lately, when I eat, there's a STRONG wave of pain that just consumes my gum and pulses. The pain also just happens randomly. Like it's kept me awake many nights to the point where I almost stuck pliers in my mouth. That bad.
Ibuprofin helps a TINY bit, but not much; even when i take 7 of them. Oragel isn't much help either. I have a feeling it's going to needed to be pulled, but I've never had to go through that.
Any tips at all help.
Broken back tooth hurts very bad?
although you probably don't wanna hear it, i guess going to a dentist would definitely be best. you can't fight toothache for a long time with Ibuprofin anyway. sorry.
Reply:Try a warm, wet tea bag (black tea, not that wimpy green tea). Place it back over the tooth and bite down very gently and hold it there for awhile. You will still need to get the thing pulled eventually, but this should help with the pain until then. The tea has tannic acid which is a very good topical pain reliever
Reply:Same thing happened to me about 4 years ago: I was eating some Ben %26amp; Jerry's Chunky Monkey ice cream, when suddenly my walnut seemed to have extra crunch and a little pain. I had broken off a chunk of my back molar.
Having no dental insurance, and no money at the time, I chose to ignore it and not eat on that side. Very gradually, the broken off bit got more broken off, and there was increased pain . .
I got some personal dental plan that didn't allow any major work until six months of paying into premiums: by the end of six months I needed a root canal and crown -- still cost me over $800.00.
But the root canal wasn't as bad as everyone says it is . . .
P.S Probably shouldn't take 7 ibuprofin at once . . .
Reply:The nerve of the tooth is infected and the only way to get it to stop hurting is to have it extracted or to do a root canal. You will need to be put on antibiotics first to get the infection to go away because the infection can cause you not to get numb. You should really think about having the root canal done if you think that you can afford it. You should always try to save your teeth. If you get the tooth extracted your other teeth will move into the space which will cause all of your teeth to shift and move. It really is important to keep your natural teeth. I know that it is hard with no insurance. Maybe your mother can help you out or you can look into some sort of credit program that most dental offices offer. Good Luck and I hope that you get out of pain soon.

Whats the teeth theory on vegeterians/carnivores/omnivor...
Hippos have huge teeth but thats not for eating right? And other animals. Some animals actually loose teeth from eating meat-I watched a show and the african dog had teeth broken from eating meat and stuff. I dont know the name of the dog it was but theyr endangered and very cool looking! Basically the teeth theory is our ability to eat different things. So why is it that some animals have big teeth but dont eat meat unless its just protection?! Please explain! Thanks!
Whats the teeth theory on vegeterians/carnivores/omnivor...
Sharp pointy teeth (canines) = carnivore
Flat molars for grinding = herbivore
Both sharp teeth (canines) and flat molars for grining = Omnivore (like you and me)
Reply:it's not the size, but shape that determine function...incisors rip meat...
Reply:well the texture of the food one eats affects the eater. vegetarians eat softer foods. meat eaters eat tougher food.
Reply:idk
Reply:It could be for attracting females or used as defence against predators. All of it relates to theory of evolution, basically these features were successful in survival and then therefore were passed on to the offspring and so on.
Reply:There is vegetation indigenous to the area the animal is in which might be large and tough or have a tough outer skin (shell), thus requiring teeth that are sharp to tear into and through it, and also large enough to mash it up (in the case of hippos).
Reply:I'm not sure,
but I am a vegetarian and I once had a half native american dentist tell me that he wasn't supriesed to hear that I was a vegetarian from the shape of my teeth. He said that they were a little spoon shaped and good for eating veggies. He then asked me if I had any native american ancestors... which I do.
The whole teeth theory thing is really interesting to me too.
Reply:Ah yes, the pointy teeth arguement. Some non-vegetarians cling to that like grim death. Bummer they don't appreciate their molars.
Reply:Teeth are used for social signalling. What do you do when you see your friend- you smile! So the argument that so many people put forward that we have canines for eating meat is cobblers- there are herbivores such as Giant Panda whcih have enormous canines but never eat meat. They are even true carnivores, in that they belong to Order Carnivora.
