Broken Tooth?

yes i broked one of my teeth in half in the front, and my dentist cant see me for at least 5 days and i think the root is exposed because whenever i breathe it hurts, my dentist didnt give me any tips and i dont want the tooth to die so can anyone give me any tips to stop the tooth from dying?

Reply:If you broke it in half, and the root is exposed, it%26#039;s probably going to need a root canal, which pretty much kills the tooth, doesn%26#039;t it. Then it%26#039;ll need to be capped or crowned. You%26#039;ll just need to sip your food threw straws and be careful, I think. At least when it happened to me, that%26#039;s how it was. I didn%26#039;t see the dentist for about a week, and then, he just cemented the thing up. It stayed that way for a few years, until my mom finally got it crowned.

Reply:At some drugstores they sell this temporary filling material called Dentatemp. I%26#039;ve never used it personally and I don%26#039;t know what it would look like on a front tooth, but it may help with the pain by keeping the nerve from being exposed to air until you can get to the dentist.
