I have horrible teeth, fillings keep falling out, teeth breaking off, went to 3 dentists, too much money?

One suggested dentures and treated me like a crack addict, the other wanted $12,000--no way I can ever come up with that, the other said to get certain ones pulled and then he'd see me and give me a price. I obviously have no money, not asking for any, but are there any agencies or cheap dental plans anywhere? I don't qualify for medicaid.

I do understand your problem .. I'm 53 without medical and dental insurance, middle class but unable to afford the rates they charge. three years ago my teeth started breaking....even the ones with crowns on, I have 13 teeth left, 7 of which have crowns. For a temporary solution till I could save up the money to get my partials I bought the imako shell to cover up my problem (search the internet for imako 49.95 upper plate only) these worked great at least they allowed me to go out in public without that crack addict feeling ...worked so great I wore them for two years till my lower teeth started breaking so I spent 495.00 for a partial for the uppers with 4 missing teeth and Gasp 853.00 for a lower plate with 7 teeth - I did my research to find an affordable dental clinic with their lab on the property ,within 2 weeks I had my smile back ...for three years I fooled all my co-workers

with the Imako shell, at times they made toothless hillbilly jokes about customers that would come into the store not even noticing the dental train wreck I was sporting. My partials fit perfectly and they are more comfortable in my mouth than without (right from the start) over my lifetime an easy 60,000.00 was spent on keeping that perfect smile , dentist visits at least 4 times a year from the age of 12 , but alas I am a victim of genetics (my sister lost all her teeth by the age of 23) plus the fact I love soda (coke) and cigarettes and had no intention of quitting either.

So: I've read some good advice here and some feedback from jerks ...overlook them ...it will catch up to them someday too. But yes do check out the Imaka shell it molds to your mouth the teeth soften with hot water (thermal plastics) and you can do your own fitting and they can be redone over and over till you get the right fit you want. it will give you that perfect set of teeth look till you can afford to get the more expensive work done, I even ordered the extra white teeth plastic and constructed some temp flippers for my lower teeth ....tricky but it can be done - you will feel better about yourself and after all that is what it is all about. I hope someday this country will have health care and Dental for all it's people not just the very poor and the very rich - or at the very least we could all move to Canada.
Reply:take a calcium suplement dayly. and good oral hygeen using floride and flos.
Reply:Skippy said you need to get job with dental insurance.

If there is no way you can ever come up with that kind of money, why would you expect any dentist to work on you. Do you expect them to work for free?
Reply:Find a dental college in your area. They love to get people like you.
Reply:Look into the dental schools in your area. They will still charge you but it will be cheaper than going to a private office. The dental students will be the ones working on you under the supervision of a dentist. Good Luck and I hope that you get the help you need soon.
Reply:Call the United Way's 1st Call For Help. In most parts of the USA you can just dial 2-1-1. They have helped me locate resources, including dental, for hundreds of people all over the country...

Best,
