What i should do when my baby (almost 2 years old) tooth broken?

My son did the same when he was 3. Those baby teeth are so small, aren't they? The bottom half of his tooth was missing after a fall. Baby teeth are much easier to break or chip on impact (compared with permanent teeth) because they're so small and not as strong. He didn't appear to be in pain after the initial fall but his smile looked awful. I took him to a pediatric dentist and they put a GI filling on it. It's similiar to a cap but it's white and makes it appear that the tooth is whole again. The chipped tooth has the enamel broken off so there is no protection on that spot to prevent decay. Your child should see a dentist. Preferably a pediatric dentist because they're great with toddlers.

The GI filling costs $60 but that was 10 years ago and I don't know what it costs now. About once a year it would fall out. The first time it was lost I had it replaced for free but after that I paid for a new one each time.

I don't think there's much you can do until their about 7 when the new teeth come in. Just make sure it's filed down so the baby doesn't hurt it's tongue.
Reply:get a cap
Reply:go to the dentist, it may have to be filled or pulled. A broken tooth can decay easily, and it will hurt alot.
Reply:You have to go to the dentist to fill it in and the make probably pain go away. Make sure give your baby relatively soft food and make sure he/she doesn't clench their jaw or chew on anything. Don't worry though. He/She will eventually get their adult teeth after about 5 years. So they won't live with that broken teeth for long. Just make sure you go to the dentist soon.
Reply:Is it just a chip? If more than a tiny chip...go to the dentist incase the root is damaged.
