Of course a dentist can remove (a regular normal one that is). A small incision would be made on the gum of that particular broken tooth area. He would clear away the gum from that part enough so that he can take out the broken tooth. But before he does this he will obviously gave u a pain killer injection. Its not really a complicated procedure.
Broken tooth dentist cant remove because cant grip it , how can i get it out ?
The dentist can remove it. He deadens the area and digs it out. It isn't as bad as it sounds. I have had teeth break off when the dentist was pulling it out and he got the roots too. It won't hurt later anymore than if he just pulled it out.
Reply:how can the dentist not remove it????!!!
he has to incise your gums and start from there.
the tooth goes all the way down to your gums.
how can he not know what to do?
Reply:Then you are going to wrong dentist!
Reply:Use a dremel tool.
Reply:If the tooth is broken off at the gum, most general dentists can not remove the tooth. They don't have the tools or proper sedation. Did your dentist refer you to an oral surgeon? If he didn't, call and have them fill the referral out for you. The surgeon will be able to get the tooth out. General dentists are just that; general. They do not specialize in one specific area of dentistry.
Reply:my husband had that problem. they just drill it up a bit and remove the pieces. just be sure to have them check to make sure they got it all out so you dont end up with an abcess.
Reply:had same problem-------------tooth in gum---------------had to cut gum and dig it out------------stitch it up-----------bam!!! that's it.
Reply:YOU can't get it out. Is it just your conclusion that the dentist can't remove the tooth or did the dentist actually say, "I can't remvoe this tooth?" If your dentist can't do this, you must contact an oral surgeon. They do this sort of thing ten times a day, every day. I am a general dentist and in 30 years, I have never once found a tooth that I couldn't remove (once I started the process), but I really enjoy surgery...
