Question About Genetic Teeth Problems?

A friend of mine has chipped or broken 4 teeth in the last 18 months. My friend is 55 and needs seven crowns. Her gums are okay.

This friend told me her mother had lost most of her teeth by the time she was 58, and finally got dentures at age 63. Her mother's mother had false teeth some time before age 60. (This woman would be 105, now....so maybe years ago she just didn't get good dental care).

My friend's question is why do her teeth break so easily? Would taking extra calcium strengthen her teeth? Are weak and problem teeth genetic?

Question About Genetic Teeth Problems?
Perhaps a fluoride rinse like Plax would help. Extra calcium will not strengthen the enamel. She has weak enamel.
Reply:The structure of the teeth is inherit but flouride helps only in the growing period of the teeth.
Reply:"Weak and problem teeth" are genetic.
