If a broken bone can re-growy, why can't a broken tooth also repair itself?

teeth has enamels which can not regenerate, bones can be rebuilt, because bones have osteoblast cells which build bones.

as a matter of fact, bones are constantly being reaborbed and rebuilt, even though they may look like as if they are not growing at all, but body has osteoclast cells that reaborb bones, while osteoblast cells build bones.

that is why when people grow older, they are more likely to have broken bones, that is because their bones are not as dense as before due to osteoclast cells.

If a broken bone can re-growy, why can't a broken tooth also repair itself?
During development the cells that form the enamel (called ameloblasts) lay down enamel while retreating away from the pulp and dentine towards the future surface of the tooth. Once done they wait on the surface of the tooth until it comes through the gum. As the tooth erupts much of the layer of enamel producing cells wears off while the rest help form the junction between the tooth and the surrounding gums leaving nothing on the surface to lay down more enamel if some is lost.

Bones on the other hand have bone producing cells (osteoblasts) that dont rub off as they are within the body. These can therefore lay down more bone at any time to repair that which has been damaged.
Reply:b/c bones hav e blood vessels%26amp;they are made of collagen fibers whereteeth have no connective tissue.
Reply:bone has osteoblast cells which help in bone formation but tooth dont have such cells
Reply:Put simply teeth are made of enamel and god didnt make is to regrow them.

I wish he did because i a practically toothless.
Reply:bone remodels itself at all time, enamel doesn't once it's gone it's gone forever.
